Thank you for the review! We're going to Albertine in March to finally try it. It's interesting - we generally find smaller plates and appetizers way more creative than entrées.
Also, obviously many people disagree with me, but there is nothing 'fine' about Reid's. It's like they've convinced everyone through branding and price that they're a high end market and restaurant, but that's not the case. Same for Salted Melon.
Yesss definitely try more of the meze items. I wish we’d gotten more. So good! You’ll have to tell me how you like it.
And I totally agree. I haven’t been overly impressed with Reid’s. It’s a worse Dean & Deluca imo. Haven’t tried Salted Melon yet but I get a similar vibe.
I meant to report - we ate at Albertine a few weeks ago. I agree with you that it's a beautiful space and the service was top notch. The food though? I thought it needed a lot of work for the price. Salt levels were off, some of the dishes were meh. Maybe it was an off night? I would go back and sit at the bar and have a snack, but they need to further sell me on the food.
Why must everything in the area have a “southern twist”?!?! It would be much more refreshing and unique if it didn’t. But excited to try the small plates!!
